These ladies are Do Nothings but are still part of the family, so I guess I'll include them. Selina Kyle, does, at least, get any mice that the barn cats miss. Purrsephone will catch them but only to play.
Purrsephone & Selina Kyle are very sweet, for female cats, and extremely friendly, demanding attention even from new guests. However, they hate each other with the fire of ten thousand suns. It has taken over a year for them to even tolerate being in the same room as each other, and things will still devolve into screaming and hissing often.
Stevie is our fowl-tempered red-eared slider. She highly enjoys her place in the living room, where she can hate-watch everyone and everything (turtles have very good eyesight and can recognize their humans from across the room!)
Stevie is over 25 years old and is so big I can't fit my fingers around her when I hold her sandwich-style. This works out just fine for her, because she hates to be held and hisses whenever you reach for her to pick her up. She will pretend to not love ear scratches, but she's not convincing.
Among the things Stevie hates most is being taken care of - turtles are super messy and her tank needs cleaned often. She will spend the next day very angrily re-arranging her tank after it is cleaned until it is disheveled again. She also needs to have a heater, or she'll go on a hunger strike, but enjoys destroying her heaters and has almost cooked herself multiple times. The cats enjoy laying on her tank lid and eventually, their fatasses will fall through and she will definitely eat them.
