We have two sets of mini-pigs. All four have been adopted through Eastern Snouts Adoption & Rehoming, and I cannot recommend them enough. They always have pigs available (indoor babies too!), will help with transport, and come with as much advice and support as you could ever need.
We have had Ham & Bacon for over a year now, and added Pigachu & Pigabu last summer. They really have been the most fun pets!
Ham and Bacon, especially, are extremely social, and will follow you around for pets whether you want to pet them or not. If they trust you, they will insist on belly rubs.

Pigs are extremely smart; as smart as human preschoolers. They also have the temperament and personality of human preschoolers. They are extremely sensitive, have very Big Feelings, and tantrum whenever they don't get their way. Although stubborn, they are eager to please and love to be called good pigs, especially when they know they're going to earn a milk bone.
They don't just scream (although they do really enjoy it). They oink, obviously. They bark when they're scared and make the cutest puppy wuffles when they're being snuggly.
Pigs build nests (yeah, like birds) and snuggle down in them together. They also love blankies and will carry them around in their mouths, and roll up in them to sleep. The ones who are not in the nest spin around in circles and scream with rage. Pigs are very clean animals - they try their best to not go in their stall, and make poops smaller than our dogs'. They do like to roll in mud, but not because it's dirty - pigs are unable to sweat, and need the cooling factor (plus the sunscreen).
Pigs are extremely social! They get along very well with the birds and have no problem sharing their food with them (although they'll fight each other for it). They have been in love with the barn kitties since they came home - the cats, who were kittens at the time, were HORRIFIED, but now love the pigs and will sit on them, rub all over them and exchange nose boops, and sleep in the hay nest with them during winter.
Our pigs are very small for mini pigs. A lot of people laugh at this, but it's true. Farm hogs will get over 500 pounds. Breeds known as 'mini pigs' are bred to be pets, and will commonly get to be around 100-150 lbs. This is a mini pig, but it's not the Yorkie-sized pig people think they are.

All four of our piggies are rescues because their owners were not properly equipped to have pigs. They didn't live in the proper zoning, they didn't have proper fencing (and remember, pigs are very smart - that includes getting out of enclosures), or were not prepared for their size. Ham and Bacon's owner, who we had the pleasure of meeting, really loved the boys and was heartbroken to give them up. PLEASE do your research before thinking about a mini pig! If you are not ready for the responsibilities (because they are not, although they are very similar to, dogs), just come get your fix loving on ours.
